Yo with Family and Friends

"Blessed Savior, I thank you that this operation is safely past, and now I rest in your abiding presence, relaxing every tension, releasing every care and anxiety, receiving more and more of your healing life into every part of my being. In moments of pain I turn to you for strength, in times of loneliness I feel your loving nearness. Grant that your life and love and joy may flow through me for the healing of others in your name." It's as if you just ate the banana mac pancakes from Boots and Kimos and you're on your way to the North Shore to eat garlic shrimp and end up at Matsumoto's for shave ice... Yo's Update

Another good day for Yo, she is doing her routine exercise, she had a CATSCAN done and look normal. She hates that bland hospital food, Robert keeps telling her she has to eat, she'll maybe eat a couple of spoonful of bland food and thats it. Robert has been spending the night with her. Robert was not around this afternoon, we bought some Malasadas from Hawaian store and she wasted no time in gobblin it up. She was supposed to be release tommorrow, now it's Monday. Took some pictures today so that you can see. Its unbeliveable that just a few day's ago there's 50/50 chance of her surviving this type of operation. Thank God

Yo's Update

Visited Yo today, she continues to make really good progress she is out of ICU and now has her own room. She walked a little longer today and of course, more exercise to keep her circulation intact. Josie ( Yo's sister) brought in home cooking and she was eating by herself. She is really doing everything on her own only on a slower pace, but that's to be expected. Her grandaughter, Jasmine came to visit, Robert had to con the nurse so Yo can see her, she was all happy and joyful. Yo gets stronger by the day and if it keeps up she might be able to be release by Sunday 12/13/09, home for Xmas for sure, that's what the family wanted. With further theraphy and rehab Yo could be back to normal sooner than we thought. This has been a remarkable recovery,

You Angels out there have been a big part of the healing, the support, the prayers, the concerns, the Love, Group prayers, etc.
Let us continue to pray for Yo and her Family.

Yo's Update

Yolanda is still showing great progress in her recovery from her surgery. Today's highlight was that she walked further than ever before without being dizzy. She is able to go to the bathroom with little assistance and brush her teeth with her right hand. She still fatigues easily but she is getting stronger. Mornings are not her favorite time because of lack of sleep but after her afternoon nap (3hrs)she is very alert and strong. Her blood pressure is being watched carefully by her doctors and if it stays below 160, she will be moved out of ICU either tonight or tomorrow. She will then be able to see more visitors and hopefully her granddaughter who she can't wait to see. We have been showing her Jasmine's video and watching her eyes lit up each time. Her surgeon and anesthesiologist visited her this morning and told me that her outcome for this kind of surgery was by far the best they had seen. They said that the 50-50 chance of survival from this kind of surgery was really being optimistic. The odds was really worse than that and for her to come out of it and showing such recovery is remarkable. We could not thank you all enough for your prayers and support.

Yo's Updates

12/08/09 3:30 p.m. Spoke with Rob to get the latest update on Yo. She seems a bit groggy (probably due to the test and medication from her MRI) Yo right side is a bit weak and her blood pressure is higher than the doctors want. Yo has let her nurses and Rob know that she is hungry and thrist. The therapist has all ready started Yo on exercises. Her sister snd sister-in-law made her laugh this afternoon. So please continue to pray for Yo, for God will help in the healing processs. Love & Prayers ~ Mary Lou

Talk to Robert about 5 minutes ago, Yo is doing great. She will be out of ICU in a couple of days, but will be under close watch, she walk until she got tired. She is talking, no more tubes, and a lot more alert. Robert will give a more detailed scenerio later tonite via comments, I think.

Yo's Update

Today is the best day yet. Yolanda is able to feed herself with solid food. She doesn't eat much as her diet is pretty bland. But the fact that she can feed herself with her RIGHT hand is great. She also took her first walk this afternoon and will take another one this evening. Watching her stand up, support herself with both arms and legs, keep her balance and take those first steps was like watching a miracle. A few days ago, I was just hoping to see her alive no matter what condition she was in. Today it looks like the strokes she suffered did not do as much damage as we had feared. With therapy and time, I beleive that she will regain her strength and be back to the way she was.The kids and I want to thank all of you for your prayers and support. I truly believe that God heard, listened and answered your prayers for Yolanda to get well. It's still too early to tell, but Yolanda is well on her way to being her old self.
